INTRODUCTION
Lagonoy is one of the municipalities in the province of Camarines Sur. According to the 2010 census, it became a second class municipality because it is considered as a partly urban when it comes to urbanization. On the year of 2012, it was marked as 3rd class municipality. One of the basis of this progress is that the establishments are continuously increasing which means there are a lot of businesses that opens up every time. Little by little,
But there are still other industries which will surely bring economic progress to the said municipality. One of these is the Tourism industry. If ever that it will be further developed, associated services and businesses will also increase, so income is there.
For now, let us take a look to the tourist spots in Lagonoy. There are so many beautiful and naturally-made places here and a little improvement is needed and it can already compete to the other tourist spots in our country. The only problem is that, all of these places are located in the remote area and a little patience, for those who are not adventurers, in order to reach it. It is just a matter of enjoyment whenever you have a plan to see and experience the unbelievable beauty of the nature.
Since we are also a part of Tourism industry, even though we are just mere students, we do our best and gave a little effort by visiting some waterfalls located in this place. We believe that through this, it can also help to the improvement of the tourism industry.
For a very short span of time, we had reached eleven tourist spots in Lagonoy, Camarines Sur. Although culture, native products, hotel establishments, recreational sites and other contributing factors are included in the scope in Tourism industry, scenic view of a certain place contributes and helps more to make it as a visiting place of many tourists and excursionists.
Our first destination is the Bulan-ogan Falls located at Barangay Agosais. Before we reached this wonderful scenery, we walked six-a-half kilometers from the starting point, the town proper and one-in-a-half kilometers from Barangay Agosais to the waterfalls’ site. We travelled in Bangka crossing the river of Canomoy as it is the sitio zone of Barangay San Isidro Norte with a fare of one peso for just a minute.
Adventure and experience are some of the words playing on our minds when we were on the way to this falls. Since this is the first time of exploring places far from the town proper, we were so excited. There were no means of transportation so our bare feet were the only way to get there. We felt so much tiredness on the way but when we had reached the place, amazement and admiration were seen in our eyes. We had never expected that there are still places that need to be taken care of so that its beauty must be preserved.
As an explorer, I am not contented on just looking at the falling water of the falls. I climbed to its peak in order to take picture to its total scenery. I experienced fear and nervousness because I almost fell. But I determined to go back safely so I find a way by climbing on vines. I almost felt death but I took much courage to go back sound and safe. I really experienced so much adventure after we had visited this place.
This falls is also known as the “Blue Lagoon” where you can relax not just your body but also your mind. One look at it and you can feel that you are very near to the nature. It has deep blue water as if you were in a swimming pool. Its dazzling look that mesmerizes our eyes seems a proof that nature still offers its beauty to the people. Its crystal clear water seems so refreshing to the eyes of its attracted nature lovers.
Before we reached this hidden place of beauty, we ride on a motorcycle to reach its locating barangay, the Cabotonan from the town of Lagonoy. You can also take an alternative transportation through jeepney which is too risky because we have to wait a little bit longer for the jeepney to become full as it will take off to the routing destination.
When we were already there, we crossed the Cabotonan River with the distance of one kilometer to Bilog falls and we took the usual activity to reach it, trekking. See, it has more adventure you could experience even in our local place so you don’t need to go farther.
This river is also good for swimming, riding on a boat (ordinary boat with paddle) and kayaking and is located at Barangay Loho.
. Almost all rivers does not reach another body of water. But this river is different; it has an extension wherein its water is flowing down to the Sabang river. According to some information we gathered, it is four meters estimated terrain elevation above sea level.
